Old American Girl Clothes Catalogs

I got a request from a reader who read my  posts on My old American Girl Catalogs to show the catalogs AG made when they had a human clothing line. Here are three rare catalogs from 1999-2000 that only feature human girl clothes and some accessories. No dolls at all. I don’t know if this was all AG ever did with this clothing line, or if there were more catalogs but this is all I have. I only own one thing in all of these catalogs so I’ll only give very sporadic comments, but in general, I love 90% of the clothes even today. In fact, I wouldn’t even mind having a couple outfits as an adult!

1999 Catalog:

My least favorite outfit is that dress:

 Spring 2000

Fall 2000

The one thing I own is the jewelry box, and it doesn’t even have the little divider drawer in it. My dolls use it as sort of a hamper in their bathroom because it goes with the bathroom colors:

 These are my favorite outfits:

  1. Those are awesome! It’d be SO COOL if you did a giveaway of one of them or something. 😀

  2. Cool! I know my older sister got catalogs like the one you show, but they were cut up long ago.

Do you remember if they were the same years? I’m just curious how long AG sold all those clothes for.

      • Nope, I have no idea, because my older sisters cut out of those catalogs, and I probably didn’t(because I was really young). I don’t think I remember getting any of them in the mail, and I do remember getting a Kailey catalog, so they probably had stopped by the time she was being sold.
Slightly random question: did you get/do you still have any Bitty Twin catalogs?

      • jackylina says:

The bitty twins were featured at the end of the regular AG catalogs. I don’t think they ever had a separate one.

Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to post. I had boxes of catalogs that were lost in a basement flood. How awesome are those outfits?! The 90s kid in me is happy 😊 I so wish that original AG was around today for my own daughter. These are GREAT!

I think the clothes’ style holds up these 16+ years later. I always enjoy these catalog posts 😄. The one thing they did then, and still do, is they find super tall, older looking girls for models with very flat bodies. I don’t mean to be indelicate but these little camisoles and strappy dresses don’t work for a lot of girls today. I wish they would show more realistic body types for the 3rd grade and up crowd.

I can’t tell you how much this exicted me!!! I had so many things in this magazine! !! I have been looking for these catalogues, so far you have posted the most and I have been having such a good time looking at them!!!! Thanks again for the time you took to do this. If you upload anymore, I will definitely be checking it out!

I know that I for one would love to see more of the clothes/bedroom/accessories catalogues like this! this is so fun!
