Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Did you know that the first official recorded Thanksgiving happened in 1632 when the Colonists living in Plymouth gave thanks to God for rain after a two month drought?
The famous Thanksgiving occurred in 1621 when the Wampanoag Native Americans and the English ate together. They ate deer, corn, shellfish, and dried meat. I think the only thing may still be served on Thanksgiving day today might be the corn!
Some of the dolls decided to celebrate Thanksgiving the traditional way: between colonists and native Americans.
Other dolls praised the Lord for everything they’ve been given in the usual modern Thanksgiving feast.
Before they ate Samantha bowed her head and prayed:
We bow our hearts to You and pray.
We give You thanks for all You’ve done
Especially for the gift of Jesus Your Son.
For beauty in nature, Your glory we see
For joy and health, friends and family,
For daily provision, Your mercy and care
These are the blessings You graciously share.
So today we offer this response of praise
With a promise to follow You all of our days.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
