Hello! It’s Jacky!
This week at camp we have been learning how to run our own business! We have our own little strip mall where customers have been busy shopping and we have been making lots of moo-la! Allison and I decided to open our own sweet shoppe! (Allison wanted it to be fancy so she put the “e” at the end of shop and made me wear a dress! groan!)
I feel like I’ve barely had any sleep because every day we have to get up at 5am to bake all the stuff we plan to sell that day so it’s always fresh. I sure appreciate anyone who does this every day for a living! It’s bad enough having to do it for a week! And you know what the worst part is? Baking all that stuff and having to smell it all day without getting to eat it! I have been groaning all the time because of the sumptuous smells, and I bet Allison is plain sick of me! But just look at those goodies!!
Allison has been so sweet. While I’m behind the counter, she’s running around acting as a waiter and serving all the customers in her elegant pink dress and matching hat.
And boy do we get the customers! Just the other day Samantha and Kit came and ate some ice cream and cup cakes.
They said it all tasted so good and promised to come back and bring more friends.
Next door to us is an adorable little Boutique shoppe. (Their store is elegant too, and they’ve got the prices to show it!)
Lily and Josefina run it and they have everything from cute and fancy dresses, to shoes, handbags, hairpieces, and jewelry.
Chloe is a major fashionista and spends a lot of time looking at all the accessories.
I just can’t get over all the shoes and handbags lined up by color on the store shelves. They even have magazines and grin pins!
Rose likes to go through the dresses and pick an outfit she finds attractive.
Don’t you think Lily and Josephina set up the store nicely? They even provided mirrors to try on jewelry.
Past the Boutique Shoppe is Suki and Kaya’s Hiking Store. It’s perfect for camp since everyone does a lot of hiking, swimming and fishing.
The tent and sleeping bag take up a big amount of space (and yes, they are using Allison and my tent, but it’s just for show!) but all the little things are still represented:
Backpacks, lanterns, and flashlights are some of the things for sale. Suki took an idea from Doll Diaries and made a mini grill from an Altoid box and some screen!
Finally, Nellie made some money babysitting. She even made a toy mobile out of pipe cleaners for little baby Alex.
We sure enjoyed working this week! Stay tuned for more!
